Creative Writing

Aim: The goal of this program is to provide students with writing opportunities that not only helps them improve their writing skills, but also increases their love of writing. We want to help students learn to become excited by the writing process and come to view it as an enjoyable, creative, and intellectually stimulating process.
Overview: Come learn the wonderful, enlightening, and intriguing aspects of how to write poetry, fiction, and nonfiction! Creative writing can be extraordinarily fulfilling and an excellent way to explore yourself and the world around you even further; through miniature crash courses of each genre, you will not only engage your imagination, but will also learn more about the creative process involved in these genres. Each week, you will learn more about the mystical world of blackout poetry, the allure of realistic fiction, the mechanics of memoir, and much, much more!

Many families are planning on applying to highly selective universities. Did you know that many admissions professionals consider the essay a key part of the college application? Once the application pool is ‘compressed’ down to the point where everyone is academically comparable, it comes down to the essays, who you are, and how you fit into the class.
